MONDAY TUNES: A SUMMER PLAYLIST Everywhere

It’s been a while since I’ve posted some tunes on here. And I know we’re over half way through summer, but it’s never too late to share music for easy listening in the car, on the road, by the pool, at the beach, in the city, at your cubicle… Because there’s more than one acceptable way to beat the heat.

You won’t find any Top 40 hits on this playlist. Sorry, it’s just not that kind of list. Also, if you’re looking for club beats to rave to, I suggest you go somewhere else in search of those (such as Ibiza). This compilation is more of the haphazard kind, featuring an oldie or two like The Band, whose most famous tune always reminds me of summer – driving with the top down and all those fun activities that us office-bound folk won’t be doing this season. “Take a load off…” Need anyone say more? There’s plenty of nostalgia in this playlist mixed in with a few, more recent tunes like Future Islands (who I saw live in Barcelona back in May and would go see again)… Or like Devonte Hynes’ score for Palo Alto – Gia Coppola’s new flick based on a short story by James Franco. And then we finish with The Smiths. Oh, the Smiths… I’d let you take me out any time. Please don’t drop me home… Because it’s summer and I want to be outtt.
