It may seem like months away, but festival season is fast-approaching and already on our minds (especially since getting tickets usually involves buying and planning ahead.) Some might have a preferred festival they return to every year, while others follow their favorite band half-way around the world. But since, in the end, we’re all in it for the great live music, this Monday’s playlist is dedicated to the line-ups from this year’s best music festivals.
It’s hard to beat voices like those of Aretha Fanklin or Eva Cassidy. But there are still plenty of talented women out there creating their own style, waiting to be (re)discovered. So this Monday’s mix is all about celebrating a little femme-power. Got any favorite female artists to recommend? Share them with us in the comments below!
*Hint: If you don’t have the time to watch each video, click on the Music Monday Mixtape in the sidebar to hear the full playlist.
I’m into catchy melodies and dreamy rifs right now. But I like when these are mixed with a trembling baritone, or a Michael Jackson-like wail. It’s hard to go back to reality. But a weekend away from daily routine is always good for the body and soul. Especially when it involves Marcus Mumford, Luke Pritchard, and Thom Yorke (not all at once of course).
